4 Low Calorie Salad Recipes

Salads are one of the healthiest things that people can eat. There are several types of salads out there and each type consist of a variety of ingredients, including but not limited to: vegetables, sauces, grains or some sort of meat.

A green salad is the standard form of salad and normally a green salad recipe includes some basic vegetables or fruits like cucumber, tomato, cabbage or lettuce, with dressing. As salad is so nutritious, it is normally served with main courses.

So if you’re looking to make your own salads and want a variety of options, try out these recipes:


Cucumber and Mint Salad


2 cucumbers
2 tbsp. chopped mint
2 cups chopped spinach
1 chopped onion
½ tbsp. mashed garlic
1 cup chopped tomato
Salt and pepper for taste


Combine and mix all of the ingredients in a bowl. Keep the mixture in an airtight jar and put it in the fridge for minimum 8 hours. Soak the liquid out of the jar and the salad is ready to serve. You may also add some sort of vinegar or sausage to enhance the taste of the salad.


Beans Salad


1 cup beans (boiled)
¼ finely chopped parsley
2 chopped tomatoes
1 chopped onion
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 chopped cucumber
1 tbsp. mashed garlic
Salt and pepper for taste


Drained the boiled beans through water and pour them into a large bowl. Combine all other ingredients in bowl and mix them completely. The beans salad is then ready to serve.


Fruit salad with honey and lime


1 tbsp. citrus peel
2 tbsp. lime juice
4 tbsp. honey
3 tbsp. chopped mint
1 cup chopped strawberry
1 cup chopped pineapple


Combine chopped strawberries and pineapple together in a bowl. Sprinkle chopped mint on the mixture. Mix the citrus peel, lime juice, and honey separately and mix the formed paste with the fruit in the bowl. When the whole mixture combined completely, then your salad will be ready to serve.



Chicken Gravy Salad:


3 cup boiled boneless chicken
1 cup mayonnaise
3 chopped stalks celery
2 teaspoon curry powder


Combine all these ingredients in a bowl and your salad is ready to serve. You may add some sort of pepper to taste if you wish.
